Acupuncture helps Allergies

Treating allergies with acupuncture takes a different approach than today's standard methods. The standard way of treating allergies is to take anti-histamines to reduce the symptoms, and to identify the allergen and reduce contact with it. While this may help reduce the symptoms, it does not solve the underlying problem of an immune system that is not functioning properly.

With allergies, harmless particles in the environment are being falsely identified as invading pathogens worthy of an immune response. This hyper-immune response is the allergic reaction. It is easy to ignore the fact that one's immune system is malfunctioning and instead take medications while hiding from the harmless particles. Fortunately, other options do exist. Allergies are not necessarily something a person must live with forever. Acupuncture is well-known for bringing balance to the various systems of the body. The allergic response is a sign of an imbalanced immune system. Acupuncture can assist in regaining the required balance to minimize or overcome allergies in the body.
